D&C 18

(2) You already know, because I’ve already told you, in small movements of the soul, in flashes of divinity, that my words are true, and they are found in my scriptures. That stack of books, right there, on your table, on your phone, that’s it. (3) Since you know they’re true, heed them. Follow them. Fall back on them, (4) because that is where the community of Christ springs into being. (5) If you plant your feet in my words, among my people, next to your savior, then there is literally nothing you can’t recover from. You will never be so broken that I cannot fix you.

(6) The world is full of darkness right now, of hurt and sin and pain, and everyone needs to remember me. It won’t fix everything, but, man, will it help. (9) So you, specifically you, are called to repent. You’re called to give up your little sins that you tell yourself don’t matter, you’re called to transform the pain in you into wisdom, you’re called to be better than you are. You’re called like Paul, out of your sins and confusion and into my work.

(10) Every single one of your matters to me. Every person who has ever been mean to you, every person you’ve ever passed on the highway or sat next to in school, every person you love—and you. You all matter to me. (11) You matter to me so much that I allowed my son to suffer every hurt any of you ever have had or will experience, so that you could come back, (12) as long as you will turn towards me. (13) I know you’re worried that repenting will mean pain. I know you fear that looking with clear eyes on your faults will be more than you can bear. What I can promise you is that I will be there with you, and that being with me is greater joy than any pain.

(14) So repent, but don’t just repent, remind everyone of the good news of repentance. Remind everyone of the risen Christ, remind them all that they can come back, that I want them back.

(15) And if you thought the joy of being with me yourself was great, it absolutely is, and is only comparable to helping other people find their way back to me. (16) Because everyone matters immeasurably, immeasurable will be your joy—and it will increase incalculably every single time you help even one more person take even one more step back towards me.

(17) It’s all right in front of you. You have everything you need. Pick yourself up, and start coming.

Behold, I have manifested unto you, by my Spirit in many instances, that the things which you have written are true; wherefore you know that they are true.

And if you know that they are true, behold, I give unto you a commandment, that you rely upon the things which are written;

For in them are all things written concerning the foundation of my church, my gospel, and my rock.

Wherefore, if you shall build up my church, upon the foundation of my gospel and my rock, the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.

Behold, the world is ripening in iniquity; and it must needs be that the children of men are stirred up unto repentance, both the Gentiles and also the house of Israel….

9 I command all men everywhere to repent, and I speak unto you, even as unto Paul mine apostle, for you are called even with that same calling with which he was called.

10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.

12 And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.

13 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

14 Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people.

15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

17 Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my salvation.
